During a mountain biking trip in remote New Zealand last week, I had the heaviest crash of my 30-year biking career. At 25 miles an hour I went straight down on my head, pile-driver style into rock, didn’t even get my hands in front of me. I felt a crunch and I thought for an instant I was gone. Turns out it was the Bontrager WaveCel helmet taking all the impact (see photos). Miraculously, I got back up and finished the ride, uninjured except for a small gash on my shoulder. 

I want to sincerely thank you for this life-saving technology. Trek Bikes Arlington, I will see you this weekend to replace this helmet I bought from you three years ago!
